Brilliant Talent That No One Sees

Indonesia has many unsung heroes, such as teachers, farmers, engineers, and professionals in various fields. These are individuals who work tirelessly every day to address problems such as poverty, polluted rivers, and hungry children. But there's a big problem: no one hears about them. Their ideas get stuck because there’s no support, no spotlight, and no way to grow. For 14 years, Astra's SATU Indonesia Awards (SIA) program has tried to find these hidden changemakers. But it wasn’t enough. The real challenge? Not just getting people to apply, but making all of Indonesia care. It was about proving that sustainability isn’t just about recognition, but changing lives.

Turning Recognition Into a National Movement

Astra reimagined the SATU Indonesia Awards not as just another awards program, but as a national movement to make sustainability personal and actionable. The campaign “Bersama, Berkarya, Berkelanjutan” brought their vision to life with 65 million rupiah in grants and mentorship for unsung innovators. The magic lay in making sustainability feel human. By collaborating with Indonesian artists like Rebellionik and The Babybirds, Astra turned abstract challenges into relatable stories that inspired action at Astra Gallery. Meanwhile, podcasters like Raditya Dika and Menjadi Manusia amplified these human stories to millions, sharing the raw, inspiring journeys of changemakers. This was more than just a campaign, it was a direct invitation for all Indonesians to join the movement.
